What sound does humanity make, stretched into inhuman shapes? Subject to the excruciating forces of capital, how do we reclaim the sensual rapture of suffering? Spirit Physics crackles with the visceral electricity of romance and paranoia, regret and humankindness.

Merging razor-sharp acid production and esoteric songwriting practice, we hear and are heard by a collection of six torch songs for a world out of balance. Flickering past, voracious recombinations of technology, sci-fi soul leaking out from cracks in a screen, the digi-cup runneth over, drenching us in the battery acid of the anthropocene. Everything is accelerating – precious humanity fraying at the edges – “virus in a thinking machine”.

uther moads is the musical alias of interdisciplinary artist Rhodri Karim, who works at the fertile boundaries of magic, mythos, society, ecology, sanity and the body. Their work has spanned music, ritual, performance and therapeutic practice. Their track Future Waves was a breakout ambient sensation, inspiring countless dance pieces and short film projects, and scoring surf brand Vissla’s Pedro’s Bay campaign. In recent years they have released an ambient EP, sensuous terrain, on The Ambient Zone.

Not previously available on the label, this release features lesser-known track "Cosmosis", new artwork and tracklisting, and heralds the reactivation of the uther moads vehicle, gathering energy for an upcoming album release in 2024 on The Association for Depth Sound Recordings.
